International Summer Academy for symphonic wind band

Content:
Music for symphonic wind band at a high level that goes beyond the common possibilities of a normal concert band. The course consists of rehearsals, workshops, presentations and inspiring conversations about wind music. There will be a closing concert on Saturday, August 7th at 8 pm in the concert hall of the Music Academy.
Target Group:
The high musical level of the Summer Academy requires participants with high musical qualification and several years experience. An application is for the whole workshop and is binding.

Wind band composition

Content:
The famous composer James Barnes helps interested participants in group lessons and one-to-one tuition to gain new experience, knowledge and develop their own capabilities in composing for wind ensembles of different sizes. The compositions created during the workshop will be played by the orchestra of the International Summer Academy for symphonic wind band.
Target Group:
· People with prior knowledge of music theory and composition
· Ongoing or finished musical studies not necessary
· Each participant should bring a composition or sketch. Finished compositions will be also reviewed by James Barnes.
